We have to take into account that Francis had this vision in a church with natural or candle light, which must have made it look a whole lot more mystical than it does now up there on the white wall. It must have been really cool to be around when you could dialogue like that with what we now call art.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I have friends who are Franciscans so it goes without saying that the first time I saw the cross of San Damiano was special and inspiring as was Assisi and La Verna in the Tuscan Apennines. I&#039;m also part Byzantine and the Cross of San Damiano done in the Byzantine style is also of great interest to me. I would any like to know more about the Byzantine-Umbrian connection. Anyone have any information to share?]]></description>
